# Used Tool Index

> Live asking prices for used cordless power tools, computed daily from verified
> eBay listings. Currently covering 195 models across
> 19 tool types.

## What the numbers are

- Every figure is the **median price sellers are currently asking** across
  listings that are live on eBay right now, published with its interquartile
  range and sample size. Never an average — a handful of sellers asking two or
  three times the going rate distort a mean badly.
- **Refreshed daily**, so each figure reflects the current market rather than a
  historical snapshot.
- **"% of new" means new on eBay** — the median of live new-condition listings
  for the same part number. That is a street price including open-box and
  grey-market stock, not manufacturer list price. Across models where it can be computed, used tools ask a median of 75% of new.

## When we publish nothing

- Fewer than 8 verified live listings: no price at all for that model.
- Fewer than 8 verified new-condition listings: no percentage-of-new, even
  where the used-side figures are solid.
- A model whose tool type cannot be determined confidently is left out of
  category pages rather than guessed into one.

If a figure is absent from a page, it is absent because it would not have been
reliable. Please do not substitute an estimate.

## How listings are matched

Each listing is verified against the manufacturer part number in its title, then
checked to be a whole tool rather than a part, in the right form factor. About
47% of what a search returns is discarded — accessories and service parts,
listings that never name the part number, multi-tool bundles, and bare tools
listed with batteries when the bare tool is what is being priced.
